The Ultimate Autumn Coat

Happy Sunday and good evening all.

From September through to February, I tend to wear alot of Reds, greens, brows, blacks and Navy’s. I have my favourite black winter coat which is warm and hooded, but I’ve been looking for something lighter in weight and colour.

There’s one staple piece for my autumn/winter wardrobe that I’ve been looking for since late July, one that’s been a key piece in fashion since 1850 in Britain, The Classic Trench Coat.

Earlier this week, whilst in Lymington, I fancied a mooch in the local charity shops. I had a little look in Marie Curie, and just as I was about to leave, I saw it.
The perfect size, colour and condition. The coat was squeezed in-between a dozen or so other coats. My belted cream trench coat.

I tried it on, and she fit like a glove.
The coat was barely worn, with all of i buttons, and food quality, from non other than Marks and Spencers. I purchased the coat immediately, for the bargain price of £12!

My coat was perfect for what I wanted as it has buttoned pockets, single breasted, a belted waist, sits just across my thighs, light but warm fabric, and iconic.

Humphrey Bogart, Casablanca (1942) Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

Leighton Meester, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie.

This coat is a timesless classic. It is one of those pieces that can be worn as smart or casual, with dresses, jeans, flats or heels. This coat, when buttoned or tied can help to accentuate your Hour Glass figure, or to give you that silhouette. It can equally look just as stylish, worn open and untied.

Let me know what key pieces you have in your wardrobe for this Autumn and Winter.

Until next time lovely people.
