Blogmas Day 26 – Boxing Day Sales

Day 26 – Boxing Day Sales

I’m not normally one to do the boxing day sales but the girls wanted to go into Newport to have a look at so I thought I might as well have a bit more festive family time.

There wasn’t really anything in particular that I needed so the night before I had a look at Superdrug Marks and Spencer’s and Boots online because the last thing I want to do is to go into a hectic shop and walk round in circles.

If you didn’t want it in the first place, then you’re not saving money.
I had a rough idea of what I wanted, and got better deals than expected.

I met the girls at 10am sharp at Boots, and my goodness you’d think they were giving away stock!
I passed dozens of women with armfuls of gift sets. You’d think they were buying for every family member and acquaintance they’ve ever had!

Although I knew what I wanted to buy, the store was heaving, and we shuffled around like fish in a tin with the occasion ‘scuse me’, ‘sorry’, ‘thank you’, and a few rude grunts from women who should of stayed at home and shopped online. It’s going to be busy, you will get squished and pushed. Just grab your bargins and get on with it!
Each of my Boots products were half price.

Alas! I managed to get to the soap and glory section. The first item I bought was The duo I bought contained The righteous Body Butter and The flake away body Polish.
I managed to pick up two of the same gift sets, as they are perfect handbag and travel sizes.
These gift sets were reduced to £2.50 each.

Next I picked up two of the Disney, Mad Beauty Princess face masks. I didn’t know if they would still have them in stock, but funnily enough they had my two favorite Princess’s left. I picked up the Aurora, lavender, relaxing and calming mask, and The Jasmine ‘A whole new world’ antioxidant green tea, refresh and revitalise mask.
I’d wanted to buy these previously but they’re so overpriced for a gimmicky face mask. At £2 each that’s more acceptable, and I thought I would grab those especially as I’m such a massive Disney.

Like I said, I’d had a look the night before at gift sets, and a few Laura Ashley and Joules products caught my eye, not for myself but for my mum and mother in law for mother’s day. I believe it’s always worth looking ahead, and to buying gifts when they are at a good price. I bought two of the sets at £5 each.

I was looking for a the Sleek nude lipkit but it was sold out. Instead I found a gorgeous mixed metal and nude lip kit by Profusion Cosmetics.
The kit comes with a matte lip cream, matte lip liner and a metal lip cream gloss.
These products have a fantastic wear, and don’t dry out your lips. If I’d of known they were this good I would of grabbed a couple of other shades.
I think this may be my New Year’s Eve lip look.
£3.50

I then made my way to Superdrug, where the shelves were almost bare. I noticed that there was a advent calendar push to the back of the shelf by itself and it was a shocking 99p!
That price for a 12 day Advent calendar? Why not?
The Flutter products were simple yet pretty. The shades were neutural in warm and cool brown and peachy tones.

Who doesn’t need another hand cream? This lightly scented cream was the perfect size for my handbag, and perfect price at 49p!

I purchased a lovely dove gift set for myself. The set contained the go fresh pomegranate and lemon body wash, exfoliating body scrub which is also pomegranate seeds and shea butter scent and then it came with a body scrub mitt. This was only £3

This was my only purchase from Marks and Spencer’s. I had wanted to buy a few larger candles but they didn’t have any that I liked the look of.
These glittery red tea lights caught my eye. I’m like a magpie, anything shiny!
The scent is rich and warm, and fills the room beautifully.

The last and final purchase was by accident. Who could forget Primark? A tanned bag, left hanging on a rail for a bargin price of £5, discounted from £15. Can one have too many handbags? Never

What did you purchase in the Boxing Day sales?

Blogmas Day 13. Beauty Advent Calendars – Part 1

Day 13. Beauty Advent Calenders – Part 1

I’ve never really been one to purchase beauty advent calendars, but this year you cannot avoid them! Online, the the shops and on adverts, it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread?!?
Since a child, the thought of advent calendars meant you could treat yourself to a chocolate once a day in the countdown to Christmas.
The joy of opening one of those little doors each day as a child from the 1st of December so I was think it’s just a lovely traditional idea but now the idea that I can do this with some of my favorite beauty products, well, it’s been blown wide open people!

Whilst doing some Christmas shopping online, I saw that Soap and Glory had their own 24 day advent calender for only £20! I thought, why bother buying online when I can avoid the shipping cost and waiting for the products and just buy it in store.
I found it in my local Boots, for £40, well I was disappointed to say the least but thought, maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Skip ahead 3 days, and I found it again sitting alone on the shelf for the bargin price of £20. It was meant to be!

I absolutely love Soap and Glory products and have been using them for years.
The products smell incredible, so sweet and sugary, with good quality, long lasting products, that are reasonably priced and come in beautiful packaging.
Now, I’m aware that an Advent calendar is to be opened once a day, but I was so intrigued and excited with my purchase, I opened all the doors at once.

Can you blame me???

The bold pink calender opens out as if you were opening a book. Such a lovely twist and touch on a classic advent calendar.
Behind each door is a product and a little pun which I thought was hilarious, I’m so thrilled with each product, and the bath pods were a pleasent surprise and such a cool idea especially as I hadn’t used those before.

Here are the gifts I received.

1x Scrub of your life body butter
1x The righteous butter body moisturizer
1x Hand foot hydrating hand cream
1x Heel genius amazing foot cream
1x Original pink body spray
1x Thick and fast high-definition collagen coat
1x Mascara sexy mother pucker lip gloss in bear enough
1x Sexy mother pucker lip gloss in pink stardust
1x Sexy mother pucker lip gloss in candy Queen
1x Crazy sexy kohl twist up eyeliner in smoulder
1x Crazy sexy kohl twist up eyeliner in what night
1x Crazy sexy kohl twist up eyeliner in fall in love
1x Crazy sexy kohl twist up eyeliner in grapevine
1x Crazy sexy kohl twist up eyeliner in cocoa bean

1x Pillow plump lip gloss in clearvoyant
1x Pillow plump lip gloss in nude in town
1x Pillow plump lip gloss in pink well
2x Clean on me creamy shower gel pods
2x Rich and famous shower and bath body wash pods
2x Sugar crush fresh and foaming body wash pods

I’m not surprised that I am thrilled with my Soap and Glory advent calendar, because you just can’t beat their products, and can say with confidence that I’ll be using every single one of them. I strongly recommend this advent calendar, so if you can get your hands on one of these calendars either this or next year, why not buy one for yourself and a friend, because with those products, even at full price, everyone’s winning.

What Beauty Advent Calendars have you bought this year? And were they worth the money?
