Roccabox £5 Mystery box

Good afternoon friends,

Today we’re unboxing an absolute steal, a £5 mystery box.

The Mystery boxes are normally £10, however I was sent an email that they were now available for £5 for a limited time, with p&p for £3.95

All mystery boxes contain a selection of 5/6 items from previously monthly boxes, therefore you may receive repeat items if you are already a subscriber.

Original Nipple Balm
Deluxe mini 4ml RRP £3.99

Yes you read that right, Nipple Cream.I read it 3 times and then asked my fiance to do the same.
This Paraben, fragrance, sulphate, and silicone free cream is multi use, vegan, cruelty free and
Made from Australian free roaming sheep’s wool.

The balm is thick, but not at all sticky, with a light lemon scent. I used a little on my lips, and was pleasent enough.
My only issue with the product was not the size, but the lack of product in the tube. And the name, again, Nipple cream, why?

‘100’s of uses. Where you apply it is your business’

OhK! SOS Skin Toning Peacock Sheet Mask RRP £4
I love OhK! Products, I’ve used a variety over the past year and have always given great results.
The Korean skin care brand are vegan, do not test on animals and are always reasonably priced and funky

Mudmasky Hair Mask Scalp Treatment 3in1 Formula RRP £6.99
I’ve received this product at least 3 times over the past few years in beauty boxes. This treatment will leave your hair feeling nourished and clean with a mild fresh scent.
A decent sized tube for 2 or 3 applications (depending on your hair length), Cruelty free, paraben and sulphate free made with natural ingredients. It’s a winner all round.

SportFX Sport Stamina Long Lasting Waterproof (Black) RRP £7.99
I do not need another mascara, I have a few on the go, however I won’t pass this one, I’ll keep it handy for hot summer days when I can only bare to wear a whip of mascara and a lipbalm

Wildtree Skincare – Organic Body Scrub Melt RRP £3.99
Although this bar was well wrapped, I thought they had send a chocolate treat as I could smell this as soon as I opened the box. This bar is blended with Cacao and Shea Butter.
I loved using this bar, it gently exfoliated my skin, helps with circulation, whilst moisturizing at the same time. The scent was strong but not over powering.

Over £26.98 worth of products that are perfect for daily use, gifts, or a little extra care for only £5, I encourage you to snap this up next time the mystery boxes are released.

Roccabox March 2021 Tried and Tested

Good morning friends,

Late last week I received my March Roccabox ‘Birthday Edition’

The box arrived in its traditional pick packaging, I was expecting something a little more colourful, shimmery or celebratory as it was the birthday edition, but no matter, it was jam packed with goodies!

L’Occitane – Almond Milk Concentrate received 50ml RRP £12.50 (Full size 200ml RRP £42)
You know I love a mini…
I have a face and body cream on the go already, so have used this smoothing and firming cream on my hands. I can’t say that my skin has felt firmer after 4 days, but they have certainly been soft. This moisturizer is cruelty free, non greasy, and soaks in well.
I have a little eczema on my hand that is quite sensitive, but the cream was kind to my skin and didn’t leave any redness or itchiness.

Monuskin Professional Skincare – Illuminating Primer SPF15 Full sized £36
I do my best to remember to apply suncream daily, but like most, can often forget.
This SPF Primer is rather thick, but that’s a positive, one pump is enough for your whole face, and soaks in well. I would say £36 for a low SPF Primer is an insane amount to pay. My make up sat well for the day, however I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money as you could easily buy a similar product for half the price.

Anatomicals – Mint Hand Sanitizer & Mint Hand Cream RRP £5
Well it’s part of our day to day, so why not?
These slender tubes are perfect handbag or even pocket sized. They thankfully don’t smell like hand sanitizer, more so the dentist, which is quite a a nice scent in my opinion. Clean, sweet and fresh.

BeautyPro Hair Therapy Deep Conditioning Hair Mask RRP £5.95
This hair mask is to be ‘worn’, after hair is shampooed, rinsed and lightly patted. Twisting wet hair into a conditioning bag is alot more awkward than I expected. The bag stayed on my hair for a full 30 seconds, I retwisted, applied and secured with a hair tie.

After 20 minutes I rinsed my hair, and man, my locks feel Luscious!
The mask may be a little fiddly and heavily scented, but I’d definitely recommend this.

Marc Jacobs Beauty – Velvet Noir Mascara Deluxe sample size RRP £13.80 (Full size RRP £24)
This deluxe mini is a good size, with my favourite type of brush, big and fluffy. One coat divided and thickened my lashes well, with no smudging or flakiness through out the day.
A little on the pricey side bit definitely a decent mascara.

Bonus Product – ISOCLEAN RRP £1
I’ve run out of my make up remover, so this one was a nice treat. Not too much to say about this product, it did have a strong hair spray scent, but cleaned the brushes well, and thankfully didn’t leave a scent on them once rinsed.

Overall I loved this month’s box, practical but pampering with a little bit of everything.

What do you think of this month’s box, are there any products you’d like to try?

Birchbox, subscription box

Birchbox February 2021

Good afternoon friends,

This month we recieved another wonderful Birchbox, only a few months in and I’m extremely impressed with the products recieved.

This months 5 products came in a make up with the option to choose from the same bag in 2 colours, Blue or orange.
I opted for the bright blue – the bag is a decent size with a sturdy zip, plenty of room as a large make up bag, or wash bag for the gym, beach swimming pool or a weekend away.

Birchbox Accessories
Natural Green Jade Super Polished Gua Sha Full sized RRP £12
The first item I opened was a Facial massage tool to used over moisturizer, facial oil or cream
Depuff skin.
Similar to a jade roller, this Gua Sha can be smoothed over the skin to increasing blood flow for lymphatic drainage. Easy to clean and store in its own little pouch.
If this is one you’re not keen on, it would make a lovely gift.

Huygens Bois Rose Regenerating Face Cleanser 30ml received (RRP £22 full sized)
This face cleanser has a strong but not over powering lavender scent. The cleanser is gentle on your skin, and is Vegan and animal cruelty free.

Sensory Retreats Divine Eyes RRP £21
This warming mask can be used to unwind, or as a overnight black out mask. On the back of the mask are details of a free 85 minutes music session to accompany your relaxing evening, a nice little touch to get the most of the product.

MCoBeauty Tango Cheek & Lip Tint (Full size recieved £12)
although they are practical, I don’t often reach for a tint. The shade is orangy, not overly keen but it is easy to blend, I expect it’ll be nice to try in the summer once my skins a little sun kissed

Soaper Duper
Zesty Sicilian Lemon Body Wash
75ml received (RRP £9.99 full sized)
Cruelty free and vegan 95% Naturally derived body wash fills the room.
I’ve used the vanilla pod body wash in this brand and adore it. This is quite a thin consistency, but a little goes a long way

Once again a lovely box/bag from Birchbox.
No make up this time around, unless you found the cheek and lip tint, but as I’ve said before, at the moment, who needs it?

The weather is still all over the show and a little extra skin care is welcomed.

Feel Unique Pick n Mix September 2020

Good evening friends,

I picked some absolutely brilliant products this month. With winter around the corner, I decided to focus on skin care… with a balm I guarantee I will repurchase in full size.

Mustela Hydra Bébé Body Lotion 50ml

What a size! When I selected this lotion, I thought it had been a typo and that a 15 or 5ml bottle would arrive, but no, a full 50mls! I didnt realise it was for babies/children, but this lovely scented, soft lotion is perfect for my extremly sensative skin, and is its

a perfect size for my handbag.

Clarins Extra-Firming Neck and Décolleté Cream 5ml

I know I’m 30, but as I’ve said before, your age supposedly shows on your face, hands and neck first… may as well start the smoothing/firming process now!

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm 5ml

I feel like a giant.

Apply by smoothing a little in the palm of your hand with warm water, rub together and gently apply the balm on your next and face.
My face felt refreshed the next mornings to come. I dont know if it was mainly the product or because I gave myself a mini face massage before bed?
£46 for a full sized (100ml), may seem hefty but you use just a tad, a little goes along way

Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTAR Skin Renewal Booster 5ml

This product is a repeat from last month as I absolutely loved this renewals booster.

MOR Marshmellow Eau de Parfum 2ml Pick & Mix

Who doesnt love a new scent? Me, that’s who. This smells nothing at all like Marshmellow or any candy for that matter. A sweet but musky scent, very odd, can’t say its my favourite but I’ll keep it by just in case

What did you think of this months Pick and Mix? And have you tried any of these products before?

Feel Unique Pick n Mix June 2020

Good evening friends,

This weekend I recieved my second Feel Unique Pick n Mix

Each month, you can choose from hundreds of samples, to select 5 items sent to you for just £3.99, including P&P
Each month you can claim back your £3.99 to use on the following month, how incredible is that?

Thalgo Collagen Cream 3ml RRP £55 50ml

The first item I picked was from a brand I had selected last time.
Over the past couple of mornings I’ve used about a half pea size under my eyes, which has left them soft, and minimal creasing when I’ve put on a light layer of make up.

Elemis gentle rose exfoliator 3ml RRP £35 50ml

This gentle expholiater is perfect for your face. I think this would be a little too soft for my liking to use on my body, but for my face, it left my skin feeling clean, refreshed and smooth

UpCircle Organic Facial Serum with Coffee Oil 1mo RRP 30ml £14.99

This serum is supposed to firm your skin whilst boosting collagen and preventing dark circles.
The scent is beautiful but extremly strong.
I smoothed this into my skin, and wow.
Afterwards my skin felt nourished, hydrated, and not at all greasy or slick.
Upcircle products are all vegan, paraben free, no palm oil, cruelty free, 100% recyclable packaging, natural and affordable.

What more could you want?

Trilogy Cream Cleanser 2ml RRP £23.50 200ml

I used this late night after having a heavy eye make up day. A little of this on my face and neck leaves skin soothed with a fresh and conditioned.
£23 is a little more than I’d like to spend on a cleanser but I may treat myself one day?

Tory Burch My First Fragrance 1.5ml RRP £55 30ml

This is a extremly subtle floral and citrus based fragrance. I was hoping it would pack more of a punch, as 3 or 4 spray hardly lasted the day.
This is just one of the reasons I love mini fragrances, it’s always best to test before you buy, especially when it’s almost £60 for a 30ml bottle.

Have you tried Pick n Mix before? What products will you be looking out for?

Glossybox June 2020

Good evening friends,

I’ve had this sat in my drafts for a while, and keep on forgetting to actually finish this post.

My bad.

June’s Glossybox had me excited, this happens few and far between as I’ve found Glossybox has lost its charm, and am only signed up for one more box of my year sentance/subscription.

Any who, June’s theme was set around world of beauty.

ModelCo Liquid Metal Eyeshadow Shade Champagne RRP £15

We recieved a similar liquid shadow last December, but this liquid shadow is a staple for every make up bag.

A quick and easy glamorous look with one swoop. With buildable layering, perfect for a top up when you’re on the go.

Huda beauty Life Liner – Very Vanta RRP £18

If you know me, or actually, if you’ve ever seen a handful of pictures of me, you’ll know I love eyeliner. A smokey smudg of soft liner or a cat eye, it’s been my go to for years.

A dual eyeline is a must have, but funnily enough I’ve never managed to find one that is just right.

Both products applied exactly as intended and were long lasting.

This all sounds great doesn’t it?

Before I explain, I’ll introduce the next product.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company – Make up Removing Cloths (pack of 2) RRP £7.99

First things first. Animal print again? Why Glossybox?

Make up Removing cloths that will wipe away all traces without any soap, oils, remover? No way.

Of course I was sceptical but intrigued, but these bad boy’s proved me wrong! Running the cloth under warm water, my foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick and even mascara wiped off without having to scrub my skin too hard, or leaving me with panda eye.

The Huda liquid liner on the other hand. Well, she had other ideas.

In the above photo, all other make up and mascara had been removed but the liquid liner would not budge, not a smudge.

I scrubbed my eyelides for as long as I could bare.

I poured a little make up remover on a cotton pad. Nothing.

Third times a charm.

Eventually the remainder of the liner came off with a wet wipe. My eyelids felt violated! If you want a 48 hour eyeliner, then this ones for you!

Lasplash Cosmetics – Brush set RRP £15

I’m not 100% sure how often you should throw away make up brushes, even though I regularly clean mine, I normally dont own a set for more than 18months. Is that just me or do others get a little grossed out by them?

I wouldnt think a set from a subscription box would be that great, but these brushes are pretty impressive.

These setting and defining eye shadow brush were dense but soft enough for the perfect application.

Beautaniq Beauty – Guardian Angel Eye Mask RRP £5

My skin is awful at the moment. I have no idea if its hormones, the lack of sun and possibly stress? But I am adoring any and all skin care

These eye masks didnt stick very well, they stayed on for around 5 minutes, all whilst I sat still, trying my best to keep my face still.
Once peeling these off, my skin felt a little tacky but with no difference. How disappointing.

Overall, air am happy with the box. I have mixed feeling regarding the Huda beauty liner, and am pleasantly surprised with the make up remover cloths.

Have you tried any of these products before? And what did you think of them?

Glossybox April 2020

Good afternoon friends,This box came at the right time because I am ready for a full on pamper!Nothing like coming back from a morning run to find your Glossybox waiting for you! This months Glossy theme was Bloom. Packed full of ‘essentials you need to bloom’ for April.Avant – Gentle Rose Beautifying Face Exfoliant RRP £92 (Full size)First off, this smells insane. What a dream!
I haven’t used too many face exfoliators, because they are often too rough and chunky.
This one though, this is perfect.
The light scent, the small sand like beads are gentle as they scrub and soften your face. I also put this on my lips which left my whole face soft and refreshed.Sportfx – Coconut Lip Balm – £4.99 50mlI haven’t heard of this brand before, the packaging is unusual, it looks like a little lightbulb, but I quite like it!
This balm is perfect for an easy application without getting your fingers messy, and also has a ton of benefits.

  • Vitamins C,E & F
  • Natural ingredients
  • SPF 15
  • Paraben Free
  • Vegan Friendly
  • Cruelty Free

A good amount of product, great price and incredible benefits.HaskDeep Conditioning Mask RRP £2.49Oh I love a hair mask!
No better feeling than your hair smelling nice and feeling soft and Glossy. I recieved this mask last June as a charcole mask, which was one of the options and absolutely loved it.
I always appreciate the size of these hair masks as I have thick long hair, and it allows me to cover a decent amount without skimping on product.Nails Inc – Blossom Kisses Nail Polish RRP £11 (Full size)This Nail varnish is such a beautiful colour.
We recieved a similar shade from May last year (Nailberry love my tender) and it was the colour I wore more than any other in 2019.This soft bubble gum pink is a staple for my spring and summer nails.Rituals Cosmetics – The Ritual of Sakura Shower Scrub RRP £4.60 (Deluxe Mini 70ml)Who doesn’t love a body scrub?Everything in this box (apart from the nail varnish), smells absolutely scrumptious! This rice based scrub is perfect for this time of year where your skin may be a little dry for the lack of sun.A little of this scrub goes a long way, I can definalty see myself purchasing this in the future! This box is one of the best for a long time. I love every product, have found a use for them instantly and think this is a lovely and versatile box for anyone.Kaya •

Feel Unique Pick & Mix Samples

Afternoon friends,

I hope you’re all well this sunday!

This week I decided to try something a bit different.

Feel Unique’s Pick and Mix.

Each month, you can choose from hundreds of samples, to select 5 items sent to you for just £3.99, including P&P

You can choose men, women or unisex products.

Perfumes, eye creams, foundations, hair and face masks, etc

The sample sizes can vary, but for me this is perfect, plus, I love anything mini… it makes me feel like a giant.

Or is that just me?

Nuxe Nuxellence Eye Contour 2ml

This 2ml may seem like a small amount, but it was plenty for a decent application. I used this last night before I went to bed.

Indeed I woke up with the skin around my eyes soft and silky, but I dont know if I’d purchase this agagin as it didnt seem out of the ordinary.

Narciso Rodriguez for her Fleur Musc Eau de Parfum 1ml

Wow this is is a beautiful scent! 1 or 2 sprays will last you for the day which is incredible.

I adore perfume but have worn the same few for the last couple of years.

I was given 2 SJP Perfumes last year and was unsure at first just because they were new, but one of them has become a firm favourite.

A tester perfume in spritz form is fantastic as you can spray it over a couple of days to see if it take your fancy rather than one spray at the drugstore.

Dermalogica Renewal Lip Complex 1ml

A blend of Avocado oil Shea and Cocoa butters, this is suppose to soften and hydrate dry lips.

Well, this is not what I pictured.

With a very sticky, thick and slightly gritty consistency, I did not want to put this on my lips!

It dod cross my mind that it had gone off, but after a quick google, the texture is correct. Just odd.

I placed this on my lips and had a good rub.

You get enough product for 2 applications, of course I put it all on in one application, oh well.

After my lips were very smooth and soft. I’d be keen to try this again, but in it’s original form. The tester grossed me out a little

Thalgo Hyaluronic Filler: Precise Wrinkle Filler 3ml

A decent sized tested in my opinion considering you dont have to use alot. I applied this for a couple of days and although I didnt visually see my difference, my make up did stay on for a little longer.

Only down fall, this has a very odd medical smell. Not the most pleasent scent for a cream!

Bioderma Sensibio Eye Contour Gel 2ml

I applied this before I put on my face/base Make up. This gel spread easily and soaked into my skin well.

A little goes a long way.

I havent used a eye contour gel before, but for £12 for the full size of 15ml, I might treat myself!

I love a tester as I think they’re so practical and a clever way to test a new product before paying out for something that you might never us again.

I love a sample also for travelling. Well, not for right now, but in general, it’s great to pack a few samples/minus (that you know your body is happy with), so that if you happen to indulge and spend when yoire away on your trip, you have room for goodies instead of lugging toiletries back with you

Have you tried this beauty service before, or one similar?

Glossybox, monthly favourites

Glossybox March 2020

Good evening friends,

Its been far to long!

As you can see from the title, this month I’ll be reviewing the March Glossybox, ‘All eyes on me’ edition.

(Find a picture of me at the bottom of the page wearing the products)

Black magic mascara
Deluxe mini 4ml RRP £10 (Full size £19)

I’m not a massive fan of mascara in beauty boxes as they’re just a bit boring, but, you always need one spare I guess.

This mascara is good, non flaking with a decent curved brush, but you’re not able to apply much at a time. Third coat and I was happy with the result, but it’s a bit more effort than I’d like to make with my mascara, I’d prefer a bushier brush and one swift flick.

Ciate London
Stamp and drag liner duo
RRP £15

Firstly the name made me laugh, its an odd one, and secondly, it was a bit*h to get out of the box

I was intrigued as I havent used one of these ‘stamp’ eye liners before.

I see the appeal of the stamp but wasnt overly keen. It’s very hard, especially to press on a sensative part of your fact, and I think the transfer would of been better if it was softer and could adapt to your eye shape.

Any who, it’s a good idea, but not quite sharp enough wing, but the defined pen helped to sort it out.

This eyeline is long wearing which is amazing, but keep that in mind if you make a mistake with your liner as it’s a tough one to get off!

Long Lasting Lipstick in the shade Flawless
RRP £15

This shade of lipsticks is definalty in my top 3, so I was happy to see such a gorgeous colour.

Blush pink is one of my favourites and this one didnt fail to impress. With a long lasting wear, soft and creamy application I’d definitely buy this lipstick again.

Highlighter Palette in shade Copperplate RRP £9.99

This highlighting pallette is full of versatile, subtle warm and light golden shades. It’s a little more on the modest side for highlighters which is what I prefer. The packaging is beautiful and it also comes with a handy brush (hygienic, dont like the thought of brushes floating around a make up bag) and a mirror enclosed.

I used shades 3 and 4 on my cheekbones, nose and eyes for a flowy, sunrises look.

Daily Cleansing Cream
RRP £7.99

Look at the size of that!

I have awful eczema on my body, and am always up for trying a new product
It does have that e45 scent, and you have to rub it in quite well otherwise you’ll have white patches, which isn’t really something youd use in the day time, but maybe when you’re at home you can leave it in to soak.
I have put it on one of my arms for the afternoon to see how it feels later

Update. I wanted to scratch my skin off.
This ones probably a no go for me which is a shame, but I’m glad I had the chance to try a new cream as sensative moisturizer can be so expensive.

Over all I am extremly happy with this months box, Glossybox are finally heading in the right direction

Do you recieve any monthly subscription boxes? And if so, would you recommend them?

Glossybox January 2020

Good evening friends,

And welcome to The first (if only the last) Glossybox of 2020

This months glossy theme is ‘Sleep and Refresh’, and, yes, its a wild one!

Bybi – Strawberry Booster RRP £12 (Full size)

This booster can be applied to clean skin, allowing it to soak into your pours, or mixed in with your foundation. A nice extra touch to your make up each day, but it doesn’t make a massive difference with or without. And although it is ‘strawberry’, I cant smell anything.

Basic Beauty – Tweezers RRP £15.50 (Full size)

Well, tweezers are tweezers. They’re good ones, with a decent grip, and it’s always handy to have a spare pair. But not the most thrilling item for the first box of the year.

ModelCo – Clear Brow Gel RRP £14 (Full size)

What can I say? Game changer.

I lied. It’s clear gel. Calm yourselves.

Beautypro – CBD Oil Infused Mask RRP £5.99 (Full size)

Ive never tried any CBD products, and never been overly intrigued to do so.

But this sheet mask actually left my skin super soft and smelt amazing. It also had a perfect consistency. Not too wet or gloopy, just right.

Context – Micro Derm Regenerator RRP £6.50 (Mini delux)

I can’t really say this product had much of an effect, but I’m always happy to try new skin care. A bit of an anti climax since it was missing from my box, andi recieved it a week later.

Well underwhelmed doesn’t even cover it. This is the blandest box I think you could revieve. Considering the best product was the face mask which was one time use, this box was left uninspiring and boring selection.

Well this is the end of my review, but carry on reading below if you’re interested in the palava it was to recieve the box.

Kaya •

Not the best start to the year (you can say that again), but seriously, Glossybox, what were you thinking?

You will recieve your dispatch email between 5th and 12th of the month. Okay fine. But the 12th rolls round and I hadn’t recieved my email. Neither had how many dozens of others. And I know this, because Glossybox’s instagram comments were full of complaints.

Have a look for yourself, every month they are swarmed with complaints.

And I’m sure a majority of you are thinking ‘just contact customer service’. But we do! I have DM’d them on instagram, emailed them, webchat through their website, and you normally just recieve the same old, slightly patronising, ‘sorry lovely please contact our team’.

Commenting on their instagram posts seems like the best way to get their attention, which is awful!

Its extremly frustrating that.anyone in the ‘Glossy circle’, receives their box right at the beginning of the month, this applies to well know ‘influencers’ also. Sucks for your average person who has to wait for their box that theyve paid for themselves, whilst you have spoilers left right and centre! For example, on the 13th of January, they display the entire contents of the box. Thanks.

As I was saying, the 12th had rolled on by and I hadn’t recieved my email… neither had others, all the whilst Glossybox continue to post on their instagram page about how wonderful the box is.

The 17th hits and I finally recieve my box. With one item missing.

When I contact Glossybox they are reluctant to give me the product in the pamphlet, and instead offer me 20% back or a make up remover.

I declined and asked for the product as shown in the pamphlet. I was then told that it was a printing mistake.

Well it’s not a mistake if I’ve seen people from the ‘Glossy Circle’, recieve this product.

After a fair few emails my original item was sent… a week after my box.

Mid January I see a comment pop up under a photo from Glossybox to a customer. ‘We have been very busy over Christmas as there is a bit of a delay in sending out boxes’

You know how many Glossyboxes to send out to subscribers as you take our money 1st of the month.

Yes Christmas is a busy time, but it’s the same time every year and you’ve taken payments for subscribers on the 1st of the month and if you’re a yearly subscriber then you know how many subscribers you have because you’re taking their money every money without fail!

I’ve I told them I’ll pay you between the 5th and 12th, that wouldnt be acceptable.

If there should been a delay because you havent organised in advanced then you should let the customers know.

The amount if boxes that have been sent out with missing products is embarrassing, whilst their customer service is absolutely shocking!

Have a read of any of their comments on their instagram. It’s terrible!

I’d like to mention, I signed up for a 12 month subscription, but if I hadn’t, I’d been cancelling pronto!
