Glossybox, monthly favourites

November 2019 Glossybox

Good evening friends!

My glossybox came at the right time, my goodness I have not been well this past week… but it’s that time of year, so let’s just power through it!

It’s a heavy one this month and back to the classic baby pink box!

Last months box was possibly my favourite, and I didn’t know what to expect for this month… but, for Novemver, we have been treated to 4 full sized products, 1 deluxe mini, and 2 extra treats.

Hask Exotoics – Hair Oil (Full size) RRP £2.49

Yes I shoved this under my nose straight away, I love hair care, especially oils. I washed my hair last night, and ran the oil through my ends once it was towel dried. I slept with damp hair and woke up to absolutely gorgeous soft and glossy hair. I strongly reccomend this little beauty!

Mudmasky – Leave me on Winter (Full size) Mask RRP £9.90

Exactly what I need, my skin has been so dry recently, and this should do the trick. A rich mask that isn’t too thick and heavy when applying. I applied a few dabs this morning on my T zone before my make up, and has kept my skin feeling soft and nourished whilst my make up staying looking fresh.

Cetaphil – Gentle Skin cleanser (Deluxe mini) RRP £1.10

This tiny little bottle is adorable, even if I didnt know what it was at first. I have quite a few cleansers at the moment and feel like it’s a bit of a waste opening another one, so I will pass this along to a friend.

Rituals – The Ritual of Ayurveda Soothing Hand Balm (Full size) RRP £9.90

Oh damn! This hand balm is so thick and rubs in without them feeling greasy, just nourished and soft. The scent is amazing, The packaging is just stunning

Also, the perfect size for my handbag!

Offblak – Fruit Tea’s £0.89 each Extra Treat!

I love a cuppa tea, in every variety! These teas were a lovely little treat.

I’m not a massive fan of ginger, but had to give one of these a whirl, so I tried the ‘Brighten Up’ – Forest Fruits and Ginger.

I know you didnt need to see half a dozen photos… but I think its mesmerising to watch. And it tasted D licious! I like my tea sweet, and this has such a light fruity sweet blend.

Kandi Cosmetics – Glow up primer and setting spray (Full size) RRP £20.00

This was the first product I locked my eyes on, but the last I opened as thought it would excite me the most, just by looking at the size (let’s keep it clean people!)

Wow, just wow! This is beautiful! I love a bit of sparkle any time of day.

This primer/setting spray is perfect for this season, one spritz will leave a light misty glow on your skin, just enough to give you that seasonal sparkle, but subtle enough that you dont look like a disco ball!

What did you think of this months Glossybox?

Thank you for reading!

Glossybox October 2019, Part 2, tried and tested

Good afternoon friends,

This post is a little different to how I normally review my Glossybox. I’ve already reviewed this months box, but since there were so many products I wanted to try I thought instead of editing my last post, I’d create a new one so you can read about how I’ve been getting on with the products.

First things first. This hot chocolate was de-licious! I’m a classic chocolate kind of girl and dont steer away to other varieties… but if you must give me a litre of this, then so be it!

The next product I tried was the bath salts. I was slightly disappointed as I expected them to foam up a little more than they did. Yes they foamed slightly, but not enough that you could use this as your only source of bubbles for a bath. The scent was beautiful though, and for that, I enjoyed it.

Whilst in my long bubble bath, (it was certainly needed), I tried the face mask.

My apologies for the poor lighting, but I had a candle lit bath, and my priority was to relax, not to fiddle around and get the perfect picture.

You can see a light glittery sparkle. This mask left my face soft to the touch with a slight comfortablt tightness, I’d defiant recommend this and use it again.

I love love love this make up look. I’ve decided on a orange look on one eye, and a pink and red look on the other, both with black eye liner and accompanied by a red lip.

This pallette is so versatile, and you can definitely create more than 2 looks with it, especially if you smoked it out a little with other shadows.

The eyeliner was great, but it did fade a little quicker than I hoped, but it was still alot better than others I’ve recieved.

This lip crayon was so creamy and had a long lasting wear. I did put a little lip balm on my lips before hand, but even so, my lips stayed moisturised and without the colour bleeding at all.

I can see this eyeshadow pallette and lip crayon becoming a firm favourite this winter.

By far, this is the best Glossybox I’ve recieved so far, and cant wait for next months!

Glossybox, Hauls

Glossybox October 2019

Good evening friends, and happy Glossybox day!

This month we were sent either a Angel or Devil addition of the box. I recieved the box I crossed my fingers for… The devil box.

First off this box is gorgeous. I do love the original baby pink, but this box just screams Kaya!

I have recieved 5 full size products, and an ‘extra treat’

Whittard of Chelsea – Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate – RRP £2.00

I have never tried a hot chocolate of that description! It sounds sickly, but delicious!
And the packaging is awesome. Day of the dead themed. I love it. I was thinking about a glass of wine in the bath, but what the hell, bring on the hot chocolate!

And a 20% off voucher when you spend over £25 in store or online.

McoBeauty – Eye define crayon liner – Full size – RRP £15.00

I know that some people arent crazy about receiving black eye liners in beauty boxes, and to be fair, I agree at times. But when you recieve one that’s the perfect consistency to what you use/want, then bring it on!
My only question for this liner is that even though its soft, which I love, on the box under directions it states ‘ if the tip of the liner feels a little blunt, sharpen it with the built in sharpener’. What does that mean? Because I cant see one? I might just be being silly?!

STY London – Devil Velvet Touch Palette – Full size – RRP £15.00

Could they of made a more autumnal looking palette? I think not! These colours are amazing, With a mix of shimmer and matte, these shades are just delicious for autumn!

Lord & Berry – Maximatte Lipstick Crayon – Devil Red – Full size – RRP £15.00

Man, this is creamy! I do love a good red statement lip. This soft and chunky lip crayon helps to accentuate the perfect statement look.

Que Bella beauty – Plumping Gold Peel off Mask – Full Size – RRP £2.49

Yes yes yes. How glamorous is this mask? This plumping, exfoliating and tightening mask contains real gold powder and organic rose water.

Bubble T Cosmetics – Devils dust Foaming Bath Powder – Full size – RRP £4.99

This’ll be my first time using a foaming bath powder.
Did anyone ever used to use those little disposable bath Pearl’s? If you know what I mean then you’ll know the scent, and this is exactly what this smells like. The scents described as fruity, but I’d say it’s a soft rose.

I havent heard of any of the brands before, but love them all. The last couple of months theres been a few products that I was underwhelmed and unsure about, but this box is perfectly themed, and quite possibly, my favourite Glossybox so far!

Glossybox, you did good!

Did you purchase a glossybox this month? If so, which one did you recieve?

Glossybox September 2019

Good morning friends!

My apologies for the lack of posts the past couple of weeks.

It has been ridiculously hectic since the end of August… I’ll catch you all up to speed soon!

Any who, let’s get back into it!

Yesterday I recieved my September Glossybox, my goodness I ripped it open in seconds. I was just a tad excited.

This months box was called the ‘Delicious box’.

Each product was ‘food inspired’, which is very unique, but not quite what I expected for the September box. I’ll explain later.

Colgate Max White – Charcole Whitenin Toothpaste (Full size) RRP £4

Now, I dont want to sound ungrateful, but, a toothpaste in a beauty box isn’t really at the top of my list. Yes I’ll use the product, but I’ve used a variety of charcole toothpastes, and have found that the pricier products aren’t any better than the own brand ones. Ah well, you always need tooth paste!

Mitchell and Peach – Flora No 1 fine edition Eau de Parfum (Deluxe mini) RRP £29.75

Now, who doesn’t love a mini parfum for your handbag?! This isn’t a scent I would normally lean towards, as at first I found the fennel a little over powering, but, I can imagine this scent being perfect for long wear, and would last you the day! I’ll definitely give this a go.

Mayy – Banana setting powder (Full size) £15

I’ve been meaning to try out a setting powder for ages, so I’m thrilled to of recieved one in this months box. I’ve seen other’s be rather heavy handed when applying this, and I always feared that it won’t blend in. I’ve been wearing quite simple and minimal make up recently (my skins been acting up), but I’m keen to give this a go on a full face for a special occasion or night out.

Delhicious Body – Original Black Tea body scrub (Full size) RRP £7.95

This 100% natural exfoliator is a dream! I love love loved using this, my skins feels gorgeous! No doubt I’ll re purchase this item or simular, in preparation for the cooler months approaching. You can never have too many products that soften and protect your skin.

Carex – Hand gel (Full size) £1.55

I recieved a cleansing hand gel in April’s box which was all well and good, but I hope that Glossybox dont make a habit of including one in their boxes every other month. A variety of cleansing and antibacterial hand gels can be purchased cheaply in supermarkets, and stores like Poundland or B&M bargains. Although its handy, It’s a little disappointing to recieve a product like this.

Palmers – Coconut Oil Formula deep Conditioning Protein Pack (Full size) £2.49

The last product is by far my favourite. You know this girl loves anything creamy, that leaves you feeling nourished and smells amazing. My hair… goodness, my hair feels glossy and has one heck of a shine to it. Although I have long thick hair, I only used half of the packet, I’m thrilled, that never happens! I normally have to squeeze out every drop just to get a bit of decent coverage. I cant wait to pick up a couple more of these!

Overall, I was pretty pleased with this months box. My only issue is that, if youre going to theme a box, then maybe tailor it to the month its attached to.

I was hoping for maybe a red, brown, purple or orange make up product, or maybe somthing like a spiced or sweet lip scrub in preparation for Autumn/Fall? As soon as September rolls around, I think of crunchy leaves, knitted clothes, and evenings in with hot chocolate.

I think Glossybox missed a trick here.

It may sound cliche, but some things are just perfect for the change of season.

What do you think? Would you prefere a seasonal themed box?

Glossybox August 2019 – Birthday Edition

Good morning friends,

This morning I got a surprise in the post… My August Glossybox,

‘The Birthday Edition’!

I’ve been looking forward to receiving this box for weeks!

I’ve kept away from any spoilers, and only found out that we’d recieve a Huda beauty item, through social media, so the rest of the box is a complete surprise!

I adore all of the pink, the shimmer, and how everything matches including the bow!

Huda beauty Lip Strobe in shade Fearless
RRP £17.00 (Full size)

This is a gorgeous colour, no doubt.
My issue with it is, that although I like to branch out with my colours, I think a purple may of come at better use in the height of summer before festival season. I would of loved the Angelic Rose, Ritzy Champagne or Boujee Coral as they’re versatile colours, and would of been more suited for me.

This vanilla scented (in my opinion), lip strobe is beautiful, but I dont know how often I’ll wear it. Maybe for when I’m feeling a little more adventurous, for a night out with a soft eye look?

Beautypro – Eye Therapy, under eye mask.
RRP Deluxe mini 3.5g worth £1.65 (recieved)
RRP Full size 10.5g £4.95

Who doesn’t love a face mask? Especially one for under the eyes, and one with collagen and green tea?
I did wake up with tired eyes this morning, so this came at the perfect time.
These are the most comfortable under eye masks I’ve ever worn. Some can become tight around the eyes, too drying, or much too sticky and slidy.

Furr – Rose gold Lash Curler RRP £15.00

My eyes lit up when I saw the box, it took up a majority of the Glossybox, and my first thought was a perfume.
Unfortunately I don’t curl my eyelashes, and am personally not a fan of rose gold.
I bought eyelash curlers for the first time about 6 months ago, from Superdrug, and they just didnt do much for me.
The curlers only cost me £1.49, and came with the replaceable rubber strip, which the Furr ones, did not.
I unfortunately won’t be using this product so I will give them to a friend.

Imperial Leather – Foambust Ulitmate Moisture Golden Amber & Coconut oil
Deluxe mini 75ml RRP £2 (recieved)
Full size 200ml RRP £5

I’ve used foam bodywashs in the past, mostly novelty ones at Christmas, or other holiday’s, and they’ve been fun. A foam body wash wouldn’t be my go to, but, they have made me squeaky clean, left me smelling amazing and skin feeling soft.
This product was okay.
On the pamphlet and on the bottle, it does tell you that it is great to use for shaving, which is awesome, multi use and all, but it looks and feels just like a foam shaving gel, not a toiletries bathing products.
My skin was left soft and sweet smelling, and a little does go a very long way, but I wasnt keen on the consistency, as it felt like I covered my body head to toe with shaving foam.

Bang beauty – Felt tip liner
Full size – RRP £15.75

The last product in the box is by far the best.
I wear liquid liner almost every day, and cannot tell you how many different ones I’ve tried. Although I dont usually use a felt tip liner, this one works brilliantly.
The tip has a slight softness to it so you can create that effortless winged liner look without dragging the applicator.

*update*

After wearing this product for 5 or 6 hours it did start to flake and became more of a grey, compared to the black shade that I had applied earlier which was disappointing.

Friends, I hate to say this.

But I’m disappointed.
Yes of course there was alot of hype over this box because it was the ‘Birthday Edition’, and also I’d geared myself up for the best box yet!

I expected, possibly an eye shadow pallet, maybe something birthday cake scented or themed, or products that would have more of a celebratory theme. There just wasnt really anything special.

I have to say, since subscribing 5 months ago, I’ve had the odd item that I wasnt as crazy about, but it’s good to try new products, but this month was seriously lacking.

Hopefully next months box will be better.

Have you received this box, if so what was your opinion on it?

July 2019 Glossybox

Good morning friends!

This month, Glossy box has given us the ‘Holiday Haul’, everything you need for your summer holidays.

I received my box the day I’d returned from holiday, which is actually a positive, as it helped to sweep away the holiday blues.

The Holiday Haul gives us 4 travel size items, and one full size items.

Moroccanoil – Moroccan oil treatment
Travel size 25ml RRP £13.45
Full size 100ml RRP £31.85

I’m a sucker for a hair oil, I love nothing more than glossy hair.

I used just a little more than recommended. This oil instantly made my hair silky. After I’d dried my hair, it was shiny, smooth and smelt amazing.

Palmers – Natural Bronze Body Lotion
Travel size 20ml RRP £2.49
Full size 250ml £5.99

I love Palmers products, and always have a bottle handy at home or in my handbag.
I’ve just returned from holiday in Portugal, so I’m not in need of a tan at the moment, but maybe once mine fades a little I can give this a go. I haven’t tried one of their tanning products before, but not doubt it will leave you with a gorgeous glow.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel – Peel off face mask
Travel size 10ml RRP £1
Full size 50ml RRP £4

The Tea tree and witch hazel mask takes me back to being a teenager when this is what most of the face masks were made from, I mean, tea tree or the fruity face masks that feel like you’ve put a full on smoothie on your face.

There’s something so satisfying about peeling off a mask, especially one like this that leaves your face feeling clean and refreshed.

Omorovicza – Cleansing Foam
Travel size 30ml RRP £18
Full size 150ml RRP £52

I’m always happy to try new products, and to find an item that I know I’ll use often. This cleansing foam worked beautifully, there isn’t really a downside to using this, but it is so similar to ones that I’ve used before so, it doesn’t really stand out or give any different result than others I’ve tried.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics – Bloom Mascara Full Size RRP £23

This mascara is incredible, it has such a thick and fluffy wand. The only other mascara that I’ve used that would compare to this is the Benefit bad gal bang mascara.

£23 may be a little steep for mascara but I think it’s likely that I’ll be treating myself and purchasing this one again!

Please let me know if you have tried any of these products, and what you think of them.

Glossybox June 2019

Good morning friends!

It’s almost the weekend, and finally time for me to publish my Glossybox review… apologies for the delay!

Pro Perfecting Collagen Touche

Éclat Primer RRP – £85.00

Now, the first product is a dream. This silky, light weight primer allows my make up to glide on effortlessly.

But once I run out, I don’t think it’s likely that I’ll be spending £85.00 on another tube, which is a shame, as this may possible be the best primer I’ve ever used!!!

Meech N Mia

Eyeshadow Chubby Stix – RRP £12.99

Eyeshadow stick is extremely soft and easy to apply considering it looks like a chunky hard pencil. Although I did get long wear from this pencil, and it was full size, £12.99 is a little steep in price for my liking, and I’m sure you could find another pencil just as shimmery and creamy but for a fraction of the price.

Model Co

Lip Creme matte – RRP £15.00

Get out of here…. the lipcreme smells like peaches! The colour is a burnt orange. This isn’t a shade that I’ve really worn before, but is now one that I’ll be keen to reach for.

The perfect shade, beautiful for day and night.

Sleek Make up

Face Form Contouring and blush Palette – £9.99

This pallette was available in two shades, fair or light I recieved the ‘fair’ kit. It’s not often that you can actually make use of all of the products in a kit, and that they all suit your skin tone. This pallette certainly saves some room in my make up bag when I’m out and about, the colours compliment each other beautifully, you get amazing coverage, though it’s not too heavy, and it includes a mirror as well!

Hask

Deep Conditioning Treatment – RRP £2.49

I’ve never used a charcoal hair mask before. In all honesty, the mention of charcoal beauty products instantly makes me think of the hundred of videos online of people painfully peeling off a charcoal mask.

Am I the only one who thinks that?

Anywho, I used this treatment in one, and my goodness, my hair felt absolutely glorious! My hair was left looking shiny, silky, and with the most heavenly scent. I’ll definitely have to pick up a few more of these treatments!

Just a side note, take care not to drop any in the shower, and if you do, don’t stand on it… its extremely slippery! Whoopsy!

Safe to say that Glossybox has done it again! I adore the thrill of receiving this pretty pink mystery box every month, and to not only try new brands, but new colours and products that I wouldn’t of otherwise!

Do you subscribe to Glossybox or any other Beautyboxes? And what do you think of them?

Glossybox

Glossybox April 2019

Good afternoon WordPress friends!

Last Saturday I received my first Glossybox!

I’d tried Birchbox twice and was painfully unimpressed… keep on reading to find out what I thought about Glossybox.

Firsty, oh my gosh, how pretty is this floral print box?
‘Let your dreams blossom’ such a lovely little detail… And is now making me think of Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale.

This month I would be sent either the floral or fruity edition of the box, and thankfully I received the one I wanted.

The presentation is sweet, the tissue paper and ribbon is a nice touch.

Also, everything has a bit of pink in it; I love when everything matches/colour coordinates.

Original Source: Raspberry and Rose Shower Gel
RRP £2.30 (Full size)

The first item I picked up was the Original Source Raspberry and Rosewater shower gel and it’s smells absolutely delicious. I’ve used this shower gel a few days in a row, and my bathroom smelt incredible after. One squeeze of this goes a long way, and foams up beautifully. I’ve used the original source products before, but this one is definitely the winner.

Merci Handy : Flower Power Hand Cleansing Gel
RRP £3.00 (Full size)

Next, we have the Merci handy flower power love and hand cleansing gel. It has a subtle but sweet and clean smell. The packaging is a nice change to most pocket sized antibacs, a little more feminine and small but still a decent size.
The gel has a mild scent and leaves your hands clean, without them feeling dried out.

Dr.Paw Paw: Hot Pink Balm.
RRP £6.95 (Full size)

From the description I though the balm
would be a soft blush but it’s quite a strong, bright hot pink. A tiny dot is plenty for a rosy summer tint to the cheeks.
I much prefer a creme blush rather than a powder, but haven’t found the right shade yet, this little beauty is perfect though. I’m looking forward to trying a sweep of this on my lips in the summer.

Dr.Botanicals: Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask
RRP Deluxe mini 30ml worth £14, Full size 50ml RRP £19

The next product is one that I’ve received before from Birchbox. I wasn’t blown away by it but was happy enough. This is what I wrote in my Birchbox review for the product.

The cream had a very faint scent, which unfortunately smelt nothing like sweet pomegranate. I used this mask on my face twice in the week, and it left my face feeling refreshed, very soft and hydrated. The mask was thick and silky.
I would recommend buying this cream, although it was slightly on the pricey side, retailing at £14.90 for the 30ml (full size) tube.

Nivea: Micellair Professional Makeup Remover
RRP £3.99 Full Size

I LOVE this make up remover! I will definitely be buying it once I run out.

It is the gentlest and quickest remover I’ve ever used. To remove a dark smokey eye, and layers of black mascara, I only had to use 2 cotton pads on each eye, to leave my eyes refreshed, and without scrubbing or irritation. Amazing!

Jeanne Arthes: Let your dreams blossom Eau De Parfum

£20.99 Full size

The last product, is my favourite.
It is a 30 ml glass spray that is sweet, light, floral, and the perfect size for my handbag. A lovely scent for summer that’s not overpowering, but has a long lasting scent. I’ve only had to use 2 spritz to have the scent stay with me all day.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this beauty box. I’m extremely impressed with not only the products, but the quality of them. To receive them in such a beautifully presented (and sturdy) box, is a bonus, it was like opening a birthday present.

I received my first box at a discount price of £7 + £3.25 postage and packaging.

Every month onwards, subscription costs £10 per month + £3.25 postage and packaging.

I’d recommend this beauty box, not only for the quality of the product but the fantastic price as well.

I can’t wait to see what I’ll receive in my May box… But of course, I’ll let you know!
