Blogmas Day 3 : Send a little love

Now, when I was in school, primary, all the way through to high school, I gave out Christmas cards.

Each year I think everyone wrote them for practically the whole class, and then kept a few plain ones by incase you missed anyone.

Nowadays, you send loved ones, friends and colleagues A Happy Christmas text, which is all well and good, but where’s the thought in it? The personal touch?

Last year I tried to personalise each text and make sure that it was sent from the heart. This year I intend to do the same, but want to post Christmas cards instead.

I love it when you recieve Christmas cards in the post, and in reality, that doesn’t really happen very often anymore.

I sent a friend a 30th birthday card a few months ago, and although I sent her a birthday text, she said she was really thankful for her card and that it was a lovely surprise.

Sometimes the small little extra things can mean so much to others.

Will you be sending cards this year? And if so, who to?

      1. It almost happened. I’m desperate to see Aerosmith, and I found tickets, flights and hotel for them…. in Vegas next July! My boyfriend and I have other plans for next year already so font really have the holiday or money to be able to go. But could you imagine? Girl we’d need a schedule for a day of trying different eateries! Xxx

      2. OH MY GOSH, I screamed a little but then I read that you have plans already. 😦 I so wish you were coming! That’d be so fun! If there is ever another time you can/want to come, please let me know. I would LOVE to have a day of trying all the eateries!

  1. I tried the E-mail Christmas greeting when I was away on a long trip over Christmas one year. It felt less than satisfying and I returned to snail mail cards the following year. I know how much I enjoy receiving cards at Christmas. This year, I handmade the card from one of my (too|) many photos and instead of the usual Bragna Carta Christmas letter sent out one showing photos of all the people who had touched our lives in the past year. The home made cards and postage costs certainly added up, but that is not the point. Good on you for wanting to send cards through the mail. Cheers. Allan

    1. Oh Allen I love that you’ve made home made cards before, that’s such a lovely idea, I may have to put some time aside and do that next year.
It’s nice that people still want to send/recieve cards and letters. It always brings me such joy to see hand written letters, theres a warm little thrill that goes along with it 🙂
