What’s wrong with me?

Hello WordPress friends, today’s post isn’t exactly what I intended, but out of concern I wanted to share this with you, hoping a light may be shone on the situation.

I’m currently led in bed on my right hand side, staring at the wardrobe and full length mirror. I can’t seem to get myself to get up as any slight movement is making me want to be sick again.

Over the past 3 months I’ve had 3 ‘stomach bugs’. Okay last month my partner and I were both in well at the same time, but otherwise why does this keep happening? I’ve constantly been feeling groggy, run down, with stomach cramps and aches and pains.

Okay, so maybe my immune system isn’t as strong as it used to be, but In the past 6 months, I cannot remember the last time I felt well and healthy for a full week. That’s not right is it? Yes there are bugs, and colds around and this season is yet to pick up from it’s cold, wet and windy days, but honestly?

I will been trying to call the Drs all day but have had no luck. I was hoping to arrange an appointment to perhaps have a blood test, maybe I have a specific food intolerance?

I’m dehydrated, I know that for sure. My attempts to sip water have caused me to feel unwell and my stomach to become ‘swimmy’.

Since being sick last night and this morning,I’ve only be able to eat a banana and a small bowl of white rice, with a few sips of water in-between.

I’m absolutely knackared. My throat hurts, and also my back from jolting. My head hurts from dehydration. I’ve got the sweats but my body is cold to touch, and my insides hurt. My whole torso feels terrible, along with a achy back and limbs.

I’m disappointed that I’ve had to call sick into work, again! I hate the feeling of letting down the team, but at the same time if be furious if a colleague came to work ill and then spread their germs.

Last night I also feel terrible for keeping my boyfriend up for hours on end, as he’s working the next morning, but wanting to help to look after me.

I’m concerned and confused. I live a fairly healthy lifestyle. I drink plenty of water, work out, eat my daily doses of fruit and veg, have home cooked meals for almost every dish that I consume, keep a clean kitchen, and hygienic home.

I don’t understand how I’m constantly feeling unwell.

The silver lining of this, if there is one, is that I finished my book. ‘Down the rabbit hole’, by Holly Madison.

It was dark, juicy, and better than expected. A recommended read for anyone who has a interest in the nitty gritty, and The Secrets of The Playboy Mansion.

Have you ever experienced on going sickness or a poor immune system? And do you have any advice?

  1. Hello, sorry to hear that, you need some immune boosters. When we are ill we use astragalus, echinacea, vitamin D, seaweed/spyralina and other super foods. Make sure your water is filtered (as tap water has lots of nasties in it) We buy organic food as it has no no chemicals/GMO’s in it. We have a healthy drink every morning with spyralina and oregano oil in it, and we are very rarely ill. Also try lavender for sleeping, stay away from geopathic stress (WiFi, computers, mobile phones e.t.c. And love yourself . I hope my advice is helpful.

    1. Hello Riviere, thank you for your comment 🙂 I’ve started drinking bottled and now have a filter at home too for water. I’ve never had a problem with our water before but now I’m being extra cautious. I’m also keeping a food diary, hoping to pin point what it could be, if it is in fact food related. Thank you so much for your advice, I’ll keep it in mind 🙂 x

  2. Hey sweetie sorry to hear your under the weather 😦 I would suggest asking for your thyroid functions to be tested as that is how mine was diagnosed I had persistent tummy bugs I was always getting colds I felt sick and dizzy all the time and finally they did some tests and found out I had an underactive thyroid ( further tests have also revealed immunodeficiency, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia which is SUPER FUN :/) whatever you do though just try and get it checked out as soon as possible don’t let them fob you off!! Hopefully you will get some answers and get on the road to recovery soon xxxxx

    1. Hiya Natalie, thank you for the thyroid suggestion, as I wouldn’t of thought of that otherwise. This sounds awful, I hope that you’re feeling better also, and glad that they have confirmed why you were unwell. I’m still waiting for the GP phone call today, hopefully there will be a positive outcome. Thank you for your help and kind comment! Xxx

  3. Just a comment on the fact that I don’t “Like” the fact that you have been feeling unwell, but I do agree with the sage advice of your WP friends on getting to the doctor soon. My advice would be the same, get to the doctor and get yourself checked out and hopefully on the road back to good health … take care of yourself … 🙂

    1. Hello there! 🙂 Yes I’ve received some brilliant advice! I’m waiting for a phone call from the GP today, hopefully I’ll get some answers and we can get the ball rolling. Have a great day and thank you for your comment 🙂 x

  4. I hope you can get to the doctor soon and see what’s going on! Hopefully it’s nothing more than dehydration and maybe your immune system has gone a little crazy. I hope you feel better soon! Please keep us posted! 🙂

  5. My internist doesn’t know what’s wrong with me. I haven’t been feeling well since last spring. My bloodwork came back fairly questionable therefore later this week, I’m seeing a rheumatologist or what the Brits call an immunologist. Therefore my suggestion to you is get yourself seen….either a doctor, hospital (if your dehydrated) and find out. Here, in the States, dehydration is hospital worthy. Take care of yourself!

      1. Thanks sweetie! I hope it’s not what my friend thinks. She’s a retired nurse and thinks it’s an autoimmune disease. But at this point, I just need an answer and a plan to feel better. Walk into that doctors office so you CAN work. Let me know how you do!😘
